this weekend…
yes, i have deviated from calling my posts “number _.” hopefully that illustrates to all of you how pissed off i am. hurricane irene is supposed to hit us sometime late tonight and finish sometime during sunday afternoon. get with the program people, we live on long island. the water is too cold for a hurricane to survive over, and it will definitely be a category one hurricane and maybe a tropical storm depending on the damage it does to new jersey. bottom line, it will get weaker as it approaches us here in the north. but this one hurricane pretty much destroyed my week.
i was supposed to start school on monday. first day of my sophomore year at college, and i was actually happy with the fact that i would be going back to school, getting into a routine again, and all of that bullshit. well i get a text message this morning from my college’s emergency text alert, yes my college is badass and they text me when school is delayed or closed, and it said that all day and evening activities on monday are CANCELLED. fuck my life. this wouldn’t bother me so much if i now didnt have an extra day of school in december. that one day could mean driving in a blizzard, or ice, or some other dangerous winter related weather seizure. i just want to go back to school and get it over with. i want fall weather, and i want to make new friends.
so now, i am stuck in my house for the next two days waiting for massive amounts of rain, and some penetrating winds. hurricane irene, please go easy on long island. we own everything else but we are fucked if you dont show us mercy. my ideas on what to do these next few days? clean my room maybe, make a few new friendship bracelets, write to my friends ashling and lexe in oswego, if the power doesnt go out watch movies, sleep? i dont know. all i know is that i’ll be doing it alone and it will be beyond dull. people are acting like the world is coming to an end. i sat in line at the gas station yesterday for half an hour to get gas. finally got it, and my friend texted me an hour later saying that the gas station that i went to just ran out of regular gas. so im pretty skilled and i think that made my day yesterday.
i am going to attempt to find something to do for the next thirty six hours. at least twelve of those hours will involve sleeping. so if anyone comes with any ideas for the other twenty four, let me know please.
